Summary
ADDTabz is sold as a nootropic and effective natural Adderall alternative. In my opinion, it is a total scam, and a dangerous one at that. ADDTabz uses a proprietary blend which is always a sign of a scam. It’s packed full of stimulants at unknown doses. I don’t see why anybody would use ADDTabz when there are so many better nootropics out there.

What is ADDTabz?
ADDTabz is a nootropic supplement marketed as a “natural Adderall alternative” for people with ADD/ADHD (hence the name). There are lots of supplements out there being sold as natural Adderall alternatives, such as AdderRx or Addrena Focus Pep. In every case, the supplement is actually just a bag of stimulants with zero likeness to Adderall in terms of effects.
According to the merchant site, ADDTabz can:
- Enhance memory
- Boost concentration
- Improve learning ability
- Reduce anxiety
- Improve mood
- Attenuate symptoms of ADHD
The manufacturer is clearly trying to sell ADDTabz as a kind of natural and legal alternative to prescription study drugs like Adderall or Ritalin.
So, does it work as advertised?
Does ADDTabz really work? Is ADDTabz safe? Will it cause side effects over the long-term? Does ADDTabz help you focus? Is it the best nootropic for overall cognitive enhancement? Is it even a good replacement for Adderall? Read my full ADDTabz review below and find out!
ADDTabz ingredients
Here is the ADDTabz ingredients list as it appears on the bottle:
In case that isn’t clear, here is a list of the ADDTabz ingredients along with dosages and serving sizes:
Folic Acid – 1000mcg
Proprietary blend – 375mg
Citicoline
Caffeine anhydrous
Synephrine hydrochloride
Choline bitartrate
Octopamine hydrochloride
As you can see, ADDTabz contains the following ingredients: Dimethylamylamine, Ampheta-CDP, Octopamine-HCL, Methylhexaneamine, Trimethylxanthine, CDP-Choline, and Folic Acid. You’ll also notice that we aren’t given any detailed dosage information apart from the Folic Acid; all we’re told is that the total serving size of the formula is a PATHETIC 375mg.
I’ll now go through the ADDTabz ingredients one by one explaining what these substances are, what they do, and their relative safety.
Folic Acid – 1000mcg
Folic acid, more commonly known as B9, is one of the most important nutrients for overall brain health and development. A lack of B9 in the diet of pregnant women is known to cause Spina Bidifa, which is a neual tube defect. More pertinently for us, folic acid has been found to be effective for reducing age related cogniive decline in several clinical studies. At least one study has found that foli acid supplementation improves cognitive function in older people. ADDTabz provides 1000mcg of folic acid, or roughly 2.5x the recommended daily amount.
CDP-Choline – DOSE UNKNOWN
CDP-Choline, also known as citicoline, is a cholinergic. This means it confers choline to the brain more effectively than choline itself (due to enhanced ability to cross the blood brain barrier). CDP-Choline is arguably the most effective cholinergic. Clinical trials have repeatedly shown that supplementing with 200mg or more of CDP-Choline can signifciantly improve focus, attention span, information processing, and working memory fuction. It has a ver good side effect profile, and is known to support brain health and development (it may protect against brian injury to some extent).
The only issue here is, we have no idea how much citicoline is in each serving of ADDTabz. With a total serving size of 375mg divided between 5 ingredients, it’s clear that ADDTabz is unlikly to contain more than the average effective dose of 200mg!
Caffeine anhydrous – DOSE UNKNOWN
I don’t need to provide much of an explanation for this one! Caffeine is without question one of the most effective natural nootropics in existence. It quickly sharpens focus, reduces fatigue, increases mental energy, and boosts motivation. However, with caffeine dosage is very important. We have no idea how much caffeine is in ADDTabz. There could be as much as 374mg (the other ingredient may only be present in trace amounts). This would constitute a dangerous dose of caffeine; one highly likely to cause side effects.
Synephrine hydrochloride – DOSE UNKNOWN
Synephrine is an alkaloid often used in supplements as a kind of stimulant and weight loss accelerator. Many people claim that synephrine has similar effects to norepinephrine: increased excitation, sharper focus, faster reaction times, and rapid information processing (norepinephrine is normally released in life threatening situations). However, this is a thin argument; synephrine looks vaguely like norepinephrine when drawn as a diagram, so people asusme it must have similar effects. This is absurd reasonin; bleach and water look very similar in structure, but tiny changes in structure can make big differences in pharmacokinetics. In reality, there is no evidence that synephrine does anything beneficial for energy levels of cognitive function.
ADDTabz, like most other nootropics sold as study drug alternatives and Adderall substitutes, contains several stimulants. Of these, only caffeine is genuinely effective. Synephrine is a gimmick, and a potentially dangerous one.
Choline bitartrate – DOSE UNKNOWN
unusually, ADDTabz contains two cholinergics: CDP-Choline and Choline bitartrate. Like CDP-Choline, Choline bitartrate confers choline to the brain, where it is used to make acetylcholine (a vital executive neurotransmitter) and phosphatidylcholine (a component of brain cell membranes). Choline bitartrate is much more efficient at raising brain choline levels than choline itself. However, it is far less efficient than CDP-Choline; standard servings for Choline bitartrate range from 400mg to 700mg. In other words, more than the entire ADDTabz proprietary blend!
Octopamine hydrochloride – DOSE UNKNOWN
Octopamine, like synephrine, is a stimulant said to have similar effects as norepinephrine in the human body. Like synephrine, octopamine seems to be completely ineffective in humans; there are no good clinical trials in which octopamine was found to produce increased energy or cognitive enhancements in humans. Octopamine gets its name from the fact that it was first isolated from the adrenal glands of an octopus, and it acts as an important neurotransmitter in many invertibrates. It is not something humans are supposed to consume in large quantities.
The majority of the ADDTabz formual is dedicated to unproven stimulants and norpeinphrine look-a-likes. This is typical of nootropics claiming to be “just like Adderall”!
Formula analysis: Does ADDTabz really work?
I can’t say I’m overly impressed with ADDTabz as a nootropic, and certainly not as an Adderall substitute (something menioned in several ADDTabz reviews already).
Like so many nootropics which claim to have similar effects to Adderall and other so-called “smart drugs”, ADDTabz is jam packed full of unproven and potentially dangerous stimulants. Worse still, we have no idea how these stimulants are dosed. It is therefore very likely that ADDTabz is almost all caffeine, or in a worst case scenrio, mostly synephrine.
Many scam nootropics rely on large doses of caffeine to trick you into thinking that they’re effective. But in reality you’re just getting pumped full of stimulants; cheap stimulants at that.
There are only two nootropic ingredients in ADDTabz: CDP-Choline and Choline bitartrate. It makes absolutely no sense to have both of these ingredients in the same nootropic as they do exactly the same thing; one just does it much better than the other!
In any case, there can’t possibly be enough of either cholinergic in ADDTabz; the minimum effective dose of choline bitartrate is around 400mg, which is more than the whole proprietary blend of 375mg! If the manufacturer is skimping on such a cheap cholinergic, there’s no way they’re paying for 200mg of CDP-Choline (which is much more expensive).
On the whole, ADDTabz looks like a scam. There are lots of ADDTabz reviews which have come to the same conclusion.
ADDTabz is mostly just stimulants, probably mostly caffeine. Synephrine and Octopamine are unproven stimulants with substantial side effect risks. There are only two nootropics in the formula, and neither can possibly be dosed adequately.
If you’re looking for a supplement to help you focus, there are better options out there than ADDTabz. if you are in need of a natural alternative to ADHD drugs, ADDTabz will likely just make things worse!
ADDTabz side effects: Is it dangerous?
ADDTabz bills itself as a natural nootropic and a safer alternative to many prescription study drugs. However, ADDTabz is not a safe supplement for anybody, as it poses significant side effect risks.
The main danger with ADDTabz comes from the fact that it contains several stimulants and we aren’t given dosages for any of them!
Caffeine is an extremely powerful stimulant. People typically feel side effects when taking 120mg of caffeine or more, depending on potency and other factors. ADDTabz could contain as much as 374mg of caffeine anhydrous, which is more powerful than typical caffeine.
Then there’s Octopamine, which is thought to behave in similar ways to norepinephrine in the body. If this is true (I doubt it), then this could be an extremely dangerous drug. Most worryingly of all, the combination of Octopamine and caffeine makes side effects significantly more likely.
ADDTabz users are likely yo experience the following side effects:
- Jitters
- Anxiety
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Irritability
- Hypertension
- Elevated heart rate
- Rapid breathing
- Breathlessness
- Paranoia
- Insomnia
Caffeine is also extremely addictive and habit forming. Using large quantities of caffeine every day, which what you would be taking if you used ADDTabz daily, can lead to you being dependent on the drug.
On the whole then, I think ADDTabz is not a safe nootropic at all. ADDTabz is likely to cause side effects. You should never use a supplement that contains unknown quantities of stimulants. ADDTabz is probably 99% stimulant for rerasons explained above.
Medical disclaimer
This is not medical advice. I am not a doctor. You need to do your own research carefully and consult with a medical professional before using any nootropics, especially ADDTabz. If you have a heart condition or anxiety stay away from stimulants. Talk to a medical doctor if you have symptoms of ADHD.
ADDTabz review conclusion: Is this a good brain supplement?
Is ADDTabz a good nootropic? Can it help with ADHD? Is it anything like Adderall?
The answer to every one of these questions is no!
ADDTabz is just another scam nootropic pretending to be an effective remedy for ADHD when in fact it is just a collection of cheap, unproven stimulants.
ADDtabz’s manufacturer clearly has no idea how to make nootropics, as it contains both CDP-Choline and Choline bitartrate; two substances which do exactly the same thing. The 375mg proprietary blend can’t possibly accomodate them both anyway!
If you need help focusing, you are struggling to remember things effectively, or you just want more mental energy, don’t waste your money on ADDTabz. Better nootropics are available.
